Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair various plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, pipe damage, and fixture malfunctions.
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, water heaters, pumps, and drainage systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to plan and execute plumbing installations and repairs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, building codes, and plumbing regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations of services rendered, estimates, and preventative maintenance tips.
- Document work performed, materials used, and any follow-up actions required accurately.
- Maintain tools and equipment in excellent working condition and ensure proper inventory of parts and supplies.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency service requests as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Plumbing Service Technician.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various plumbing issues.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical diploma or certification in Plumbing or a related field.
- Experience with commercial and industrial plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with local Rwandan plumbing codes and regulations.
- Basic computer literacy for job management and reporting.
