This crucial role is based in Fomento, Matola, at the heart of Mozambique’s bustling port activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of vessel arrivals, departures, and cargo loading/unloading operations.
  • Prepare and process all necessary documentation, including manifestos, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
  • Communicate effectively with vessel captains, port authorities, shipping agents, and internal departments.
  • Monitor cargo movements and storage, ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all port activities, vessel movements, and cargo status.
  • Support the Port Operations Manager in daily planning and problem-solving.
  • Assist with inventory control and equipment allocation within the port area.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide timely updates on operational progress to relevant parties.
  • Ensure adherence to all local and international maritime regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in safety briefings and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an administrative or logistics support role, preferably within a port or shipping environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to challenges.
