Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in accordance with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assess, monitor, record, and report on the progress and attainment of pupils.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with additional support needs.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting respect, self-discipline, and positive social interactions.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents/guardians regarding pupil progress, well-being, and school activities.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and whole-school events.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, potentially including leading or assisting with extracurricular activities.
- Ensure the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of all pupils in line with school policies and statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and share best practices.
Required Skills
- Full registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) or eligibility for registration.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching in a primary school setting within the UK (NQTs with strong practical experience are also encouraged to apply).
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.
- Exceptional classroom management and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young learners.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific educational software, online learning platforms, or interactive whiteboards.
- Additional training or qualifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Additional Support Needs (ASN).
- Previous experience leading school initiatives, clubs, or pastoral care activities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) and evidence of recent relevant training.
