Job Description
Innscor Africa Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team in Chinhoyi, Mashonaland West Province. This critical role is central to our operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness, overseeing all aspects of our procurement processes within the region. The Procurement Manager will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating favourable terms with suppliers, and ensuring the timely and cost-efficient acquisition of goods and services vital to our manufacturing, retail, and distribution operations. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring strict adherence to company policies and ethical procurement practices, contributing directly to our competitive advantage. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust procurement strategies to support company objectives and achieve cost savings.
- Manage the entire procurement cycle, from supplier selection and negotiation to contract management and performance evaluation.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendor base.
- Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal terms, pricing, and service levels.
- Monitor market trends, supply chain risks, and commodity prices to inform procurement decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., production, finance, logistics) to forecast demand and ensure timely material availability.
- Optimize inventory levels to minimize holding costs while preventing stockouts.
- Implement and manage procurement software or ERP systems for enhanced efficiency.
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, savings, and key metrics.
- Mentor and develop procurement team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years (72 months) of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and relevant legislation
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply)
- Master's degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
- Experience in the food & beverage, retail, or manufacturing industry
- Familiarity with international trade regulations and import procedures
