Are you an experienced and strategically minded Procurement Manager with a proven track record in cultivating robust vendor relationships and optimizing procurement processes? The SPAR Group Ltd is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Procurement Manager to join our bustling Polokwane Distribution Centre team. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for various categories of goods and services.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from supplier identification and selection to contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Conduct regular market analysis to identify new suppliers, market trends, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, addressing issues proactively to ensure service delivery and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical guidelines, and relevant industry regulations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and inventory teams to align procurement activities with business needs.
- Lead and mentor a small procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance to senior management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior role.
- Demonstrable expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle, Sage).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport for potential supplier visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or an MBA.
- Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
- Experience within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or retail distribution sector.
- Familiarity with South African procurement legislation and best practices.
