Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Procurement Officer to join our dynamic Supply Chain and Logistics team. This critical role is central to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services essential for Gamma Civic Ltd’s diverse operations. As a Procurement Officer, you will be instrumental in managing the end-to-end procurement cycle, from identifying supplier needs and conducting market research to negotiating contracts, placing orders, and managing supplier relationships. You will work closely with various internal departments, including project management, operations, finance, and logistics, to understand their requirements and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and services.

This position demands an individual with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and exceptional negotiation skills. You will be responsible for optimising our supply chain, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or reliability. Your expertise in market analysis will help us stay ahead of trends, identify new suppliers, and mitigate potential supply risks. Furthermore, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing practices, and local regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete procurement cycle from requisition to order placement and delivery.
  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
  • Negotiate favourable terms, conditions, and prices with suppliers to achieve cost savings and value for money.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolving any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Conduct market research to identify new products, suppliers, and procurement strategies.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, invoices, and supplier details.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their material and service requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and environmental standards in all procurement activities.
  • Manage inventory levels in coordination with logistics and warehouse teams to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the procurement process.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a procurement or supply chain role.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain principles and logistics operations.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
  • Experience in the construction, manufacturing, or distribution industries.
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures in Mauritius.
  • Project management skills.
