Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing team in the heart of Metrotown, Burnaby. This critical role focuses on optimizing production processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of product quality. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, implement, and validate optimal production processes and equipment layouts.
- Identify and troubleshoot production issues, developing robust solutions to minimize downtime and maximize output.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams to ensure seamless product introduction and sustained quality.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production defects and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Evaluate new technologies and automation solutions to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for production, reporting on performance and recommending improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English for effective communication.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and implement data-driven solutions.
- Proven problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- P.Eng. designation or eligibility.
- Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Familiarity with automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 concepts.
- Project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
