Job Description

Artcaffé Coffee & Bakery is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Production Line Operatives to join our bustling food manufacturing team in Gigiri, Nairobi. This crucial role involves working hands-on within our production facilities, contributing to the creation of our high-quality bakery products, confectionery, or prepared food items that delight thousands of customers daily. As a Production Line Operative, you will be an integral part of our efficient and hygienic production process, responsible for various stages of food preparation, assembly, and packaging. You will operate under strict food safety guidelines, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely output in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to teamwork, and the physical stamina to maintain productivity throughout your shift. You will be responsible for operating various pieces of production equipment, conducting routine quality checks, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and collaborating with team members to meet production targets. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production line machinery and equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Perform initial quality checks on raw materials and finished products, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Follow precise recipes, production schedules, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Package finished products according to specifications, ensuring proper labeling and sealing.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, adhering to all food safety (HACCP) and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials, and moving products within the production area.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet production targets.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues promptly.
  • Participate in regular inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good manual dexterity and physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in a food manufacturing, production, or kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles or other food safety certifications.
  • Experience operating industrial food processing equipment.
  • High School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
