Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Delivery Driver to join our dynamic logistics and distribution team at Phoenix Beverages Ltd in Camp Levieux, Rose Hill. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of our wide range of beverage products from our distribution center to various retail outlets, supermarkets, hotels, and other clients across Mauritius. This isn’t just about driving; it’s about being the face of our company on the road, ensuring our products are delivered with care and professionalism. You will play a crucial part in maintaining our reputation for reliability and customer service.
Your day will involve meticulously loading and unloading goods, navigating established routes with precision, and adhering strictly to all traffic laws and company safety protocols. You will manage delivery schedules, ensure accuracy of orders, and handle necessary paperwork, including delivery notes and invoices. Maintaining the cleanliness and optimal operating condition of your assigned vehicle is paramount, requiring daily checks and prompt reporting of any maintenance needs. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles (vans, trucks) for the transportation of goods.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies at all times.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate delivery vehicles.
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes.
- Follow routes and time schedules provided by the logistics team.
- Complete logs and reports, including daily mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery records.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety items daily and perform preventative maintenance.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage immediately.
- Ensure accuracy of all product deliveries against invoices and obtain necessary signatures.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior.
- Assist with warehouse duties, loading/unloading when not on deliveries, as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Mauritian Driving License (Class 3 is mandatory; Class 4 or 5 an advantage)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years.
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items repeatedly (up to 25kg).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (Form V/SC or equivalent).
- Experience with route optimization software or GPS devices.
- Previous experience in the FMCG or beverage distribution industry.
- Customer service experience.
