As a Project Coordinator, you will be the linchpin connecting various project stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication, meticulous planning, and efficient execution across all project phases. Your primary objective will be to support project managers and teams in achieving project goals, on time and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and stakeholder satisfaction. You will play a crucial role in developing detailed project plans, tracking progress, managing resources, and mitigating potential risks. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines using appropriate project management tools.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks, identifying potential bottlenecks and developing contingency plans.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including reports, presentations, and communication materials for stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication channels among team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.

Required Skills

  • Proven working experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role (minimum 3 years)
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE2 certification
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Asana, Jira, Trello, MS Project)
  • Prior experience working on community development or infrastructure projects in Kenya
  • Familiarity with Tana River County's local context and stakeholder landscape
  • Proficiency in Swahili and/or local indigenous languages
