Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly review and proofread a diverse range of content, including marketing materials, reports, web copy, articles, and technical documents, for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and stylistic consistency.
- Verify factual accuracy, cross-referencing information where necessary, and ensure adherence to established brand guidelines and preferred style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual of Style, client-specific guides).
- Identify and correct errors in formatting, layout, and typography to enhance readability and visual appeal.
- Collaborate closely with content creators, editors, and project managers to clarify queries and implement necessary revisions efficiently.
- Maintain and update internal style guides and glossaries to ensure consistency across all projects.
- Provide constructive feedback to content teams to improve overall writing quality.
- Manage multiple proofreading projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met without compromising quality.
Required Skills
- Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Proven experience as a professional proofreader, editor, or similar role.
- Meticulous attention to detail and an eagle eye for inconsistencies and errors.
- Proficiency in using proofreading marks and digital annotation tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat comments, Microsoft Word Track Changes).
