Job Description

Park Lane Properties Mauritius is seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Manager to oversee our diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties in the St Jean, Quatre Bornes area. This pivotal role focuses primarily on tenant relations and maintenance coordination, ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our managed properties. You will be the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing their concerns promptly, fostering positive relationships, and ensuring their tenancy experience is exceptional. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing inquiries, concerns, and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage tenant move-ins and move-outs, including property inspections, key exchanges, and deposit reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and oversee all property maintenance activities, including scheduling repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency services.
  • Liaise with approved contractors and vendors, obtaining quotes, managing work orders, and ensuring quality and timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs, ensure compliance with lease agreements, and assess property conditions.
  • Enforce lease terms and conditions, handling lease renewals, rent collection, and addressing any breaches or disputes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date property records, tenant files, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist with the preparation of property reports for owners, detailing property performance, maintenance activities, and tenant feedback.
  • Ensure all properties comply with local health, safety, and building regulations.
  • Assist in marketing vacant properties and conducting showings to prospective tenants.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to property management, including invoicing and budget tracking for minor repairs.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Property Manager, specifically with a focus on tenant relations and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of property management principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities, with a capacity to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in property management software (e.g., AppFolio, Buildium, Yardi) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for property visits.
  • Fluency in English and French (Creole also highly beneficial).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Real Estate Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of local Mauritian real estate laws and regulations.
  • Experience with budget management and financial reporting for properties.
  • Certification in Property Management (e.g., CPM, ARM).
