Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research and data analysis to support policy formulation and programme evaluation.
  • Prepare detailed reports, briefs, presentations, and correspondence for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative and technical support for departmental projects, initiatives, and committees.
  • Monitor the implementation of government policies and programmes, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and timelines.
  • Assist in the development, review, and revision of administrative procedures and policy documents.
  • Liaise with internal departments, other government agencies, and external partners to facilitate coordination and information exchange.
  • Contribute to the identification of administrative challenges and propose effective, innovative solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, databases, and documentation.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in public administration.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Management Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an administrative or public service environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in policy support, research, or project coordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Public Administration or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within a Jamaican government ministry or agency.
  • Knowledge of Jamaican public sector regulations and administrative frameworks.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with data management and statistical analysis software.
