Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Purchasing Agent to join our team in Land Park, Sacramento. As our Purchasing Agent, you will take ownership of the entire purchasing lifecycle, from identifying needs and sourcing potential suppliers to negotiating contracts and monitoring performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, products, and services based on price, quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions, pricing, and delivery schedules with vendors to secure optimal agreements.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, finance, project management) to understand their needs and ensure timely procurement.
  • Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, implementing strategies for efficient stock rotation.
  • Evaluate supplier performance regularly, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
  • Resolve discrepancies with invoices, shipments, and supplier performance in a professional and timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to procurement.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role.
  • Proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of local Sacramento market suppliers and logistics.
