This pivotal role ensures that our products consistently meet stringent internal and external quality specifications throughout the entire production lifecycle, from raw material inspection to finished goods. You will be instrumental in upholding our reputation for excellence, working closely with production teams to implement and monitor quality assurance protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods according to established procedures.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and physical tests on products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and critical quality points (CQPs) within the production process.
  • Accurately record and document all quality control data, test results, and non-conformance reports.
  • Identify and report any deviations from quality standards, assisting in the investigation of root causes and corrective actions.
  • Calibrate and maintain QC equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of measurements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP principles, and other relevant food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with production team members to address quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality control processes and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a quality control or assurance role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of food safety principles (HACCP, GMP).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and procedures accurately.
  • Proficiency in data recording and basic computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 2 or 3 Food Safety Qualification.
  • Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 22000).
  • Knowledge of relevant UK food industry regulations and standards.
  • Previous experience with sensory evaluation techniques.
