Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budget breakdowns for various construction projects.
- Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and making recommendations.
- Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and managing contractual correspondence.
- Conduct regular site valuations and progress assessments to approve payments to contractors.
- Identify, analyze, and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout project lifecycles.
- Negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and clients to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
- Prepare and present financial reports, cost analyses, and cash flow forecasts to stakeholders.
- Manage change orders and variations, assessing their cost implications and negotiating adjustments.
- Prepare final accounts and ensure project closure is handled efficiently and accurately.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters, procurement strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
- Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., RIB iTWO, BricsCAD, BIM-related tools)
- Strong understanding of contract law, procurement, and construction methods
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation and commercial management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and German
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to financial data
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional membership with a recognized body (e.g., RICS, VBI, AKBW)
- Master's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
