Job Description

Career.zycto is proud to partner with a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center located on Akin Adesola, Victoria Island, Lagos, seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiographer. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic services to our diverse patient base. As a Radiographer, you will be at the forefront of medical technology, operating and maintaining various imaging equipment including X-ray, CT scans, and potentially MRI, to produce high-quality images essential for precise diagnosis and treatment planning. Your role is pivotal in helping physicians make informed decisions, directly impacting patient treatment paths and recovery.

We are looking for an individual who is not only proficient in their technical skills but also possesses excellent interpersonal abilities to ensure patient comfort and understanding throughout their imaging procedures. You will be responsible for explaining complex medical procedures in an accessible manner, answering patient questions with empathy, and ensuring a safe, reassuring, and sterile environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain X-ray, CT, and potentially MRI equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures as per established protocols.
  • Position patients correctly and safely for imaging procedures, ensuring patient comfort and dignity.
  • Explain procedures to patients clearly and empathetically, addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation protection protocols for patients, staff, and self, minimizing exposure.
  • Accurately record patient information and imaging data in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment and report any malfunctions or irregularities.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training programs to stay updated with advancements in radiography.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in scheduling and managing patient flow to optimize departmental efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Valid professional license to practice as a Radiographer in Nigeria.
  • Proven experience operating X-ray and CT imaging equipment.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety principles and practices.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in image acquisition and data recording.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiography or a related field.
  • Experience with MRI imaging equipment.
  • Prior experience in a busy diagnostic imaging center or hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with international best practices in diagnostic imaging.
