Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-ray and fluoroscopy with precision and accuracy.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures, including proper shielding and positioning.
  • Explain procedures to patients clearly and address any questions or concerns.
  • Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, performing quality control checks.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, radiation protection guidelines, and quality assurance standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, reporting issues as necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  • Assist with scheduling and patient flow as needed to maintain departmental efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Completion of an accredited program in Medical Radiography.
  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of British Columbia (CAMRT and CMTBC).
  • Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience as a Radiographer.
  • Proficiency in operating various diagnostic imaging equipment (e.g., X-ray, C-arm, fluoroscopy).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills (English speaking).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System).
  • Advanced certifications or specialized training in specific imaging modalities.
  • Familiarity with Teleradiology systems.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations.
