Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including X-ray and fluoroscopy with precision and accuracy.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures, including proper shielding and positioning.
- Explain procedures to patients clearly and address any questions or concerns.
- Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, performing quality control checks.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging logs in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, radiation protection guidelines, and quality assurance standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, reporting issues as necessary.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Assist with scheduling and patient flow as needed to maintain departmental efficiency.
Required Skills
- Completion of an accredited program in Medical Radiography.
- Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of British Columbia (CAMRT and CMTBC).
- Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience as a Radiographer.
- Proficiency in operating various diagnostic imaging equipment (e.g., X-ray, C-arm, fluoroscopy).
- Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills (English speaking).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System).
- Advanced certifications or specialized training in specific imaging modalities.
- Familiarity with Teleradiology systems.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
