As a Radiographer, you will be at the forefront of this commitment, operating a range of sophisticated equipment including general X-ray, Computed Tomography (CT), and potentially Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners, depending on departmental needs and your specialist skills. Your day-to-day will involve meticulous patient preparation, accurate image acquisition, and vigilant monitoring throughout procedures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate image acquisition, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, nurses, and administrative staff. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray, CT, and potentially MRI, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification, explanation of procedures, and provide compassionate care throughout the imaging process.
  • Maintain and operate imaging equipment efficiently, identifying and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
  • Accurately record patient data, imaging parameters, and assist with image archiving and retrieval.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, consultants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, departmental meetings, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Adhere strictly to radiation protection regulations and local rules, ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.

Required Skills

  • BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience as a Radiographer in a clinical setting (minimum 2 years post-qualification).
  • Proficiency in general X-ray and CT imaging techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MRI scanning or a willingness to undergo specialist training.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) in relevant areas.
  • Familiarity with RIS/PACS systems and electronic patient records.
