Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair railway tracks, signals, switches, and other railway infrastructure components.
  • Perform diagnostic tests on electrical and mechanical systems to identify faults and ensure proper functionality.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules and operational procedures.
  • Respond to emergency calls for repairs and system failures, often outside regular hours.
  • Operate specialized equipment and tools safely and efficiently for railway maintenance.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, operational procedures, and environmental policies.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify and report potential hazards or system deficiencies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Railway Technician or in a similar heavy industrial maintenance role.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and railway-specific equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance.

  • Knowledge of Canadian railway operating rules (CROR) or equivalent.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Fluency in French and English (oral and written).
