You’ll play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere, often being the first point of contact for visitors, answering questions, and providing information about our extensive range of programs, from fitness classes and sports leagues to arts and crafts workshops. Your day could involve anything from managing front desk operations, handling cash and processing payments, to helping organize and supervise recreational activities. Beyond the administrative duties, you’ll also be instrumental in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of our spaces, conducting regular checks of equipment and common areas, and assisting with minor maintenance tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patrons with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Process program registrations, facility bookings, and payments accurately using recreation management software.
- Provide detailed information about recreation programs, schedules, memberships, and facility rules.
- Prepare and set up equipment for various recreational activities, classes, and events.
- Monitor facility areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and adherence to operational guidelines.
- Perform light administrative duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and managing inquiries.
- Assist with the organization and supervision of recreational programs and events.
- Handle cash and reconcile daily transactions, ensuring accuracy.
- Report any maintenance issues, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain an organized and welcoming front desk and common areas.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office Suite) and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a recreation center, customer service, or administrative role.
- Knowledge of recreation management software (e.g., PerfectMind, ActiveNet).
- Experience with program setup and event coordination.
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in recreation, hospitality, or a related field is an asset.
