Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to national guidelines and local protocols.
- Monitor patients' conditions, interpret vital signs, and respond to changes effectively and promptly.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement holistic care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Participate in ward meetings, handovers, and continuous professional development activities.
- Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a safe and clean clinical environment.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, promoting best practices and a culture of continuous learning.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their rights and preferences are respected.
Required Skills
- Valid Nursing Degree or Diploma (BSc/Diploma in Nursing)
- Current NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration or in the process of obtaining it (OET/IELTS required)
- Minimum of 2 years post-registration clinical experience in a hospital or equivalent setting
- Excellent clinical skills and a strong understanding of evidence-based practice
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal communication)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate, resilient, and dedicated to patient care
- Basic IT skills for electronic patient records
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a specialised area such as Acute Medicine, Surgery, ITU, or Paediatrics
- Previous experience working in a UK healthcare setting
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with electronic health record systems specific to the NHS
