Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to national guidelines and local protocols.
  • Monitor patients' conditions, interpret vital signs, and respond to changes effectively and promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Collaborate with doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement holistic care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Participate in ward meetings, handovers, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a safe and clean clinical environment.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, promoting best practices and a culture of continuous learning.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their rights and preferences are respected.

Required Skills

  • Valid Nursing Degree or Diploma (BSc/Diploma in Nursing)
  • Current NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration or in the process of obtaining it (OET/IELTS required)
  • Minimum of 2 years post-registration clinical experience in a hospital or equivalent setting
  • Excellent clinical skills and a strong understanding of evidence-based practice
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal communication)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Compassionate, resilient, and dedicated to patient care
  • Basic IT skills for electronic patient records

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a specialised area such as Acute Medicine, Surgery, ITU, or Paediatrics
  • Previous experience working in a UK healthcare setting
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience with electronic health record systems specific to the NHS
