Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant to join a dynamic healthcare team in Maputo. This pivotal role involves working directly with patients under the supervision of licensed physiotherapists and occupational therapists, providing essential support and assistance in the implementation of rehabilitation programs. Key Responsibilities
- Assist physiotherapists and occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring correct technique and safety.
- Provide support with mobility training, transfers, and activities of daily living (ADLs) as per care plans.
- Monitor and document patient progress, noting any changes, challenges, or achievements, and report to supervising therapists.
- Prepare treatment areas, clean and maintain rehabilitation equipment, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
- Maintain patient records, schedule appointments, and perform other administrative duties as required.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and dignity are maintained at all times.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant or in a similar healthcare support role.
- Strong understanding of rehabilitation principles and patient care techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping.
