The Rehabilitation Support Aide at Career.zycto plays a pivotal role in assisting our clients on their journey to recovery and enhanced well-being within the vibrant community of Nhantchere, Tete. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities under the direct supervision of therapists.
  • Provide personal care assistance, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility, respecting client dignity and privacy.
  • Monitor and report changes in client condition, behavior, or progress to the supervising therapist or nurse.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized rehabilitation environment, including cleaning equipment and preparing therapy areas.
  • Document client activities, observations, and progress accurately and promptly in accordance with facility policies.
  • Transport clients safely to and from therapy sessions and other appointments within the facility.
  • Offer emotional support and encouragement to clients, fostering a positive and motivating atmosphere.
  • Collaborate effectively with rehabilitation therapists, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and client confidentiality standards.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling or preparing materials for sessions.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong empathy, patience, and compassion for clients.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work collaboratively.
  • Basic understanding of rehabilitation principles and patient care.
  • Physical stamina to assist with client mobility and lift/transfer as required.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese (official language of Mozambique).
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a healthcare support role, ideally in rehabilitation or elder care.
  • Certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Knowledge of local Mozambican cultural sensitivities related to healthcare.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
