Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote API Integration Tester to join our dynamic and growing technology team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless functionality, reliability, and performance of our various API integrations that power our vast ecosystem of digital products and services. As a Remote API Integration Tester, you will work from anywhere within the United States, collaborating closely with our development, product, and operations teams to meticulously test and validate API endpoints, data flows, and integration points across diverse platforms and systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about quality assurance in a microservices and API-driven architecture. You will be responsible for designing comprehensive test plans, developing automated test scripts, executing tests, and identifying, documenting, and tracking defects in our API integrations. A strong understanding of various API protocols (REST, SOAP), data formats (JSON, XML), and authentication methods is essential. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for API integrations.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing on APIs using appropriate tools and frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for API testing using scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and automation tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI, ReadyAPI).
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies, collaborating with development teams for timely resolution.
  • Analyze and interpret complex system requirements, API specifications, and technical documentation to ensure thorough test coverage.
  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to understand project requirements and provide feedback on design and implementation.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Monitor and report on test execution progress, defect status, and overall quality metrics.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of clear, concise, and comprehensive test documentation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in API testing, test automation, and software quality assurance.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in API testing, integration testing, or quality assurance.
  • Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP web services, JSON, XML, and other data formats.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration with testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) for APIs.
  • ISTQB certification or other relevant QA certifications.
