Career.zycto is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Remote Carbon Data Partner to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team. This is a pivotal role for an individual passionate about sustainability, data integrity, and making a tangible impact on climate change. As a Remote Carbon Data Partner, you will be instrumental in helping our diverse client base understand, measure, and ultimately reduce their carbon footprint. You will take ownership of complex carbon accounting projects, working with various data sources to identify emissions hotspots, forecast future scenarios, and develop actionable strategies for decarbonization.
This role requires a deep understanding of carbon accounting principles, particularly the GHG Protocol, alongside advanced data analysis and visualization skills. You’ll be expected to translate intricate data into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Operating from your remote office, you will collaborate seamlessly with internal teams across different time zones and directly engage with clients, providing expert guidance and building strong relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the collection, validation, and analysis of diverse carbon emissions data from various client operations and supply chains.
- Apply industry-standard carbon accounting methodologies (e.g., GHG Protocol) to calculate organizational and product footprints.
- Develop and implement robust data management systems and processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
- Prepare comprehensive carbon reports, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions inventories, aligning with recognized reporting frameworks (e.g., CDP, TCFD, CSRD).
- Identify key emissions reduction opportunities and recommend strategic interventions to clients, supported by data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with internal sustainability consultants and external stakeholders to integrate carbon data into broader sustainability strategies.
- Stay abreast of evolving carbon regulations, reporting standards, and best practices, proactively advising clients and internal teams.
- Design and deliver clear, impactful presentations and workshops to communicate complex carbon data findings to diverse audiences.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Career.zycto's carbon accounting tools, models, and service offerings.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in carbon accounting, sustainability data analysis, or environmental consulting.
- In-depth knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol Corporate Standard and other relevant carbon accounting methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL, Python, or R) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Demonstrated experience in managing and interpreting large, complex datasets related to environmental performance.
- Strong understanding of major sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., CDP, TCFD, CSRD, SBTi).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
- Proven project management capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, analytical mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., GHG Protocol certificate, ISO 14064 lead verifier).
- Experience with carbon accounting software platforms (e.g., Persefoni, Watershed, Salesforce Net Zero Cloud).
- Consulting experience with diverse industries and global clients.
- Familiarity with life cycle assessment (LCA) principles and software.
