Job Description

We are seeking a highly meticulous and self-motivated Remote Data Entry Clerk to join our team, supporting our critical humanitarian programs in Wajir, Wajir County, from the comfort of your home. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately inputting, managing, and maintaining various types of data crucial to our operations, including program beneficiaries’ information, monitoring and evaluation data, logistical records, and financial entries. Your dedication to precision and efficiency will directly contribute to the integrity of our data systems, which in turn informs strategic decision-making and ensures accountability to our beneficiaries and donors.

This work-from-home position requires exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to strict deadlines. You will utilize various digital tools and software to process information, ensuring all data is consistent, error-free, and compliant with our internal standards and data protection policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately input a high volume of data from various sources (paper documents, digital forms, audio recordings) into designated databases and spreadsheets.
  • Verify data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, identifying and correcting discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain data integrity and confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and data protection regulations.
  • Organize and file documents, both physical and digital, ensuring easy retrieval and systematic record-keeping.
  • Generate basic reports and summaries from entered data as requested by program or administrative teams.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding data entry progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Adhere to strict deadlines and quality standards for all data entry tasks.
  • Proactively identify areas for data quality improvement and suggest solutions.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as assigned, supporting the remote team's operational needs.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in data entry or a similar administrative role (at least 12 months).
  • Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 45 WPM with high accuracy).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, demonstrating self-discipline and reliability.
  • Basic understanding of data confidentiality and security principles.
  • Reliable internet connection and a conducive home office setup.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with database management systems or specific NGO data platforms.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian aid contexts and basic understanding of monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Ability to communicate in local languages spoken in Wajir County (e.g., Somali) is a plus.
  • Previous experience working remotely.
