This role requires not just data entry, but also critical thinking to identify opportunities for metadata improvement, streamline processes, and adhere to industry best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain comprehensive product metadata across all digital catalogs and e-commerce platforms.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of product information, including descriptions, specifications, images, and categorizations.
- Implement and adhere to metadata standards, data governance policies, and best practices for product data entry.
- Optimize product listings for searchability and discoverability, including keyword integration and SEO best practices.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and e-commerce teams to gather and update product information.
- Perform regular audits of catalog data to identify and correct discrepancies, errors, or missing information.
- Support the integration of new products into the catalog system, ensuring all required metadata is captured efficiently.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of metadata management processes and tools.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in data entry, data management, or metadata specialization, preferably in an e-commerce or retail context.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) or product information management (PIM) software.
- Strong understanding of digital catalog structures, taxonomies, and hierarchies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and keyword optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Library Science, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with specific PIM systems like Akeneo, Salsify, or similar.
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce).
- Previous experience working in a remote team environment.
- Basic understanding of data analytics and reporting.
