Job Description

The Zimbabwe Red Cross Society is actively seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, and experienced Remote Donor and Fundraising Outreach Coordinator to join our dedicated and dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and rigorously evaluate comprehensive fundraising strategies to consistently meet and exceed annual financial targets for various humanitarian programs.
  • Proactively identify, thoroughly research, and diligently cultivate enduring relationships with prospective individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and institutional funders.
  • Draft compelling, persuasive, and grammatically impeccable grant proposals, donor reports, fundraising appeals, and other bespoke communication materials meticulously tailored to different donor segments.
  • Manage and maintain a robust, up-to-date donor database (CRM system), ensuring accurate record-keeping, efficient donor tracking, and highly effective communication with all donors.
  • Strategically plan, meticulously organize, and effectively oversee remote fundraising campaigns, engaging virtual events, and targeted digital outreach initiatives to maximize donor engagement and contributions.
  • Continuously monitor emerging fundraising trends, meticulously analyze campaign performance metrics, and prepare regular, insightful reports on fundraising progress, donor engagement, and stewardship activities.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with program teams to gather impactful stories, high-quality photographs, and essential data for compelling donor communications and persuasive proposals.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant fundraising regulations, ethical standards, and internal organizational policies.
  • Effectively represent the Zimbabwe Red Cross Society in virtual meetings, online forums, and other engagements with donors, partners, and stakeholders, upholding the organization's reputation and mission.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in donor relations, fundraising, resource mobilization, or business development, preferably within the non-profit or humanitarian sector.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft persuasive narratives and articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, particularly in proposal writing, budget management, and donor information management.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or similar) and various digital fundraising platforms and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exhibit strong self-discipline, and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a remote work setting.
  • Profound understanding of humanitarian principles and an unwavering commitment to the mission and values of the Red Cross Movement.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken); strong command of local languages such as Shona or Ndebele is a significant advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a closely related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional certification in Fundraising (e.g., CFRE) or a related discipline.

  • Familiarity with the socio-economic context, cultural nuances, and community dynamics within the Midlands Province, Zimbabwe.
