Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, review, and implementation of company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate and minute governance-related meetings (e.g., risk committees, steering groups), ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely distribution of materials.
  • Track and follow up on actions and decisions arising from governance meetings, ensuring accountability and completion.
  • Maintain and organise governance documentation, including policy registers, risk logs, and compliance records, ensuring accessibility and version control.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations on governance performance, risks, and compliance status for senior leadership.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, supporting information requests and the resolution of audit findings.
  • Provide guidance and support to various departments on governance best practices and policy interpretation.
  • Monitor changes in relevant regulations and industry standards, assessing potential impacts on OVO Energy's governance framework.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for governance processes and systems.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a governance, compliance, risk, or administrative support role (minimum 3 years).
  • Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team structure.
  • Understanding of corporate governance principles and regulatory environments.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ICSA Certificate in Corporate Governance, PRINCE2 Foundation).
  • Experience working within the energy sector or a highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) software platforms.
