In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for our members, providing exceptional customer service, clarifying health plan benefits, and resolving inquiries related to claims, coverage, and eligibility. This is a full-time, remote position where you will leverage your communication skills and problem-solving abilities to ensure our members have a seamless and positive experience with their healthcare coverage. Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming calls from members regarding their health insurance plans, benefits, eligibility, and claims.
- Clearly and accurately explain complex health insurance information in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Assist members with navigating their online accounts, locating providers, and understanding prescription benefits.
- Investigate and resolve member inquiries and complaints, escalating complex issues when necessary.
- Document all member interactions and resolutions accurately in the designated systems.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA).
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and effective resolution of member issues.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and integrity in all member interactions.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with product knowledge and industry changes.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a call center environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
- Excellent active listening skills and a empathetic approach to customer interactions.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, navigating multiple applications simultaneously, and strong typing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions under pressure.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Dedicated home office space free from distractions with reliable internet connection and a conducive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Previous experience in the healthcare or health insurance industry.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and health insurance regulations.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
