Job Description
The Remote Invoice Discrepancy Resolution Support role at Equity Bank Kenya is a critical position vital to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our financial operations. As a key member of our remote financial operations team, you will be responsible for meticulously investigating, resolving, and documenting discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and billing records. This role requires an eagle eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and professionally. Working independently from your home base in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, you will collaborate with various internal departments, including procurement, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor management, to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
Your daily tasks will involve reviewing incoming invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and service agreements, identifying variances, initiating thorough investigations, and communicating effectively with vendors or internal stakeholders to gather necessary information for resolution. You will utilize various financial systems and tools to track, reconcile, and report on all outstanding discrepancies, ensuring timely closure and adherence to our internal policies and regulatory compliance standards. Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies by liaising with vendors, procurement, and internal finance teams.
- Perform detailed reconciliation of accounts payable/receivable ledgers against invoices and payment records.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to clarify issues and gather necessary information.
- Document all investigation steps, communications, and resolution outcomes thoroughly in relevant systems.
- Identify root causes of discrepancies and recommend process improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and audit requirements.
- Prepare regular reports on discrepancy status, resolution times, and outstanding issues.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures related to invoice reconciliation.
- Utilize accounting software and ERP systems for efficient tracking and management of invoices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
