The Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) is seeking a dedicated Remote Maintenance Planner to join our dynamic team. As a Remote Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and overseeing comprehensive maintenance plans for our critical infrastructure. This involves meticulous planning of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, coordinating with on-site teams, and ensuring the availability of necessary resources, parts, and tools. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks for various power generation assets.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to schedule, track, and manage all maintenance work orders efficiently.
- Coordinate with on-site maintenance teams, engineers, and supply chain personnel to ensure timely availability of resources, parts, and specialized equipment.
- Analyze equipment performance data, identify maintenance trends, and recommend improvements to optimize asset reliability and reduce downtime.
- Prepare detailed work packages, including job steps, safety procedures, required tools, materials, and estimated labor hours.
- Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and contribute to developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance planning and execution, reporting on adherence to schedules and budget.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment histories, and inventory levels.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of maintenance procedures and best practices.
- Ensure all planned activities comply with safety regulations and environmental standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner in an industrial setting, preferably in power generation or heavy industry.
- Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP PM, Maximo, or similar.
- Strong understanding of maintenance principles, including preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities remotely.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and standards in an industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CMRP – Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional).
- Experience with asset criticality assessment and risk-based maintenance planning.
- Knowledge of various power plant technologies (hydro, thermal).
- Experience working with remote teams and distributed operations.
