Key Responsibilities

  • Process incoming medical records requests, including scanning, indexing, and filing documents appropriately.
  • Perform data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy and efficiency, ensuring all patient information is current.
  • Retrieve and deliver medical records as requested by authorized personnel, ensuring timely access to critical information.
  • Conduct regular audits of medical records to identify and correct discrepancies, maintaining data integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and administrative staff regarding record discrepancies or requests.
  • Assist with the release of information (ROI) process, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and sensitive data at all times.
  • Operate standard office equipment and software, including EHR systems, word processors, and spreadsheets.
  • Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Medical Records Clerk or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare record-keeping practices.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
