Job Description
Mumsnet is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Podcast Production Specialist to join our growing content team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in bringing our audio content strategy to life, producing high-quality, engaging podcasts that resonate with our vast audience of parents. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled audio professional to take ownership of the entire podcast production lifecycle, from concept development and pre-production planning to final mastering and distribution, all from the flexibility of a remote work model. You will collaborate closely with our editorial team, hosts, and external guests to create compelling audio narratives, insightful discussions, and entertaining series that uphold Mumsnet’s reputation for trusted and relatable content. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end production of Mumsnet podcasts, including pre-production planning, recording, editing, mixing, and mastering.
- Collaborate with hosts and guests to schedule recordings, provide technical support, and ensure optimal audio quality during sessions.
- Perform advanced audio editing, including noise reduction, equalization, compression, and sound design to create a polished and professional sound.
- Integrate music, sound effects, and voiceovers to enhance the listener experience and brand identity.
- Prepare podcast episodes for distribution across various platforms (e.g., Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts) using appropriate metadata and specifications.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and quality standard across all podcast productions.
- Provide creative input on content ideas, segment structure, and storytelling techniques to improve listener engagement.
- Monitor podcast performance metrics and audience feedback to inform future content strategy and production enhancements.
- Manage and organize audio assets, project files, and backup systems efficiently.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, audio technologies, and best practices in podcast production.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience in podcast or audio production.
- Proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Adobe Audition, Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, or Reaper.
- Demonstrable expertise in audio editing, mixing, mastering, and sound design.
- Strong understanding of audio recording techniques, microphone selection, and acoustic treatment (even for remote setups).
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen ear for high-quality audio.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
