Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Risk Management Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this critical full-time role, you will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational and clinical risks across our vast network of healthcare facilities. Working remotely from your home office in the Nashville, Tennessee area, you will leverage your expertise to safeguard our patients, employees, and assets, ensuring HCA Healthcare maintains the highest standards of safety and compliance. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of healthcare regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with various stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust risk management strategies, analyzing incident data, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive risk identification and assessment programs.
  • Monitor and analyze emerging risks, industry trends, and changes in healthcare regulations to ensure proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, near-misses, and adverse events, including root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and legal departments to integrate risk management best practices into daily operations.
  • Prepare detailed risk reports, summaries, and presentations for leadership, highlighting key findings and recommended actions.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of risk management education and training programs for colleagues across the enterprise.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, TJC).
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of risk management technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in risk management, compliance, quality improvement, or a related analytical role within the healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed data analysis, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with risk management information systems (RMIS).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., MHA, MBA, MPH).
  • Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC).
  • Experience working within a large, multi-facility healthcare system.
  • Familiarity with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) software solutions.
  • Project management experience.
