Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented individual with exceptional listening and linguistic skills? DXMY Radio Station is seeking a dedicated Remote Speech Transcription and Review Assistant to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing audio content from various sources, including live broadcasts, interviews, news segments, and internal recordings, into written text. Beyond mere transcription, a critical component of this position involves meticulous review and editing to ensure grammatical correctness, punctuation accuracy, and strict adherence to our editorial style guides. Your work will directly contribute to the accessibility of our content, aid in content repurposing, and help maintain the highest standards of quality for our digital archives and publications.
Working remotely from Cotabato City, you will leverage modern transcription software and tools, collaborating asynchronously with our content and production teams. Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio recordings of varying lengths and complexities into accurate written text, including interviews, news segments, and special programs.
- Rigorously review and edit transcribed documents for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, punctuation inaccuracies, and overall linguistic clarity.
- Ensure all transcriptions adhere strictly to DXMY's established style guides and formatting standards.
- Verify the accuracy of speaker identification and time stamps within transcribed content.
- Manage and prioritize multiple transcription projects to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Utilize transcription software and tools proficiently to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding project status, challenges, and completion.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive audio content.
Required Skills
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional listening skills with a keen ear for detail and nuances in speech.
- Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 60 WPM).
- Proficiency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Familiarity with transcription software and tools.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- High level of self-discipline and ability to work independently.
- Ability to adapt to various audio qualities and speaker accents.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in transcription, copyediting, or a similar role.
