As a Remote Virtual Tutor with MyTutor, you will provide engaging, one-to-one online tuition sessions to students from primary school through to A-Level. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective one-to-one online tutoring sessions in your chosen subjects.
- Tailor lesson content and teaching methods to meet the individual learning needs and styles of each student.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback on student progress and areas for improvement.
- Build rapport and foster a positive, encouraging learning environment for students.
- Utilise the MyTutor online platform's features (virtual whiteboard, chat, video) effectively to enhance lessons.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of your specialist subjects and relevant curriculum requirements.
- Manage your own schedule and commitments to ensure reliability and punctuality for booked sessions.
- Communicate professionally and promptly with students, parents, and the MyTutor support team as needed.
- Adhere to MyTutor's safeguarding policies and best practices for online interaction.
Required Skills
- Excellent academic record in your chosen subjects (typically A-Level or equivalent minimum).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students learn and succeed.
- Reliable internet connection, a functional webcam, microphone, and a quiet, suitable remote workspace.
- Proficiency in using online communication and learning tools.
- Self-motivation and strong organisational skills to manage your schedule and student caseload.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or coaching (formal or informal).
- Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a top-tier university.
- Specialisation in high-demand subjects such as Maths, English, Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), or specific Humanities subjects up to A-Level.
- Familiarity with various examination board specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, OCR).
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
