Job Description
Designity is seeking a highly skilled and creative Remote Web Designer to join our dynamic talent network on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced designer based in Newark, New Jersey, or anywhere in the U.S., to collaborate on diverse projects for a variety of clients, from startups to established enterprises. As a Contract Web Designer, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing user-friendly and visually compelling websites that align with our clients’ brand identities and strategic objectives.
Your expertise will cover the full spectrum of web design, including wireframing, prototyping, user interface (UI) design, and ensuring an exceptional user experience (UX). You’ll work closely with Designity’s Creative Directors and project teams, translating client requirements into intuitive and engaging digital experiences. We are looking for someone with a keen eye for aesthetics, a deep understanding of current web design trends, and a strong proficiency in design tools and best practices. This role demands a self-starter who can manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively in a remote environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop responsive, user-friendly, and visually appealing websites and landing pages.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
- Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
- Collaborate with Creative Directors and clients to understand project requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.
- Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback to improve and optimize user experiences.
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms and design elements.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web trends, techniques, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Web Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of web projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Solid understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices.
- Experience with responsive and mobile-first design.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (understanding of capabilities and limitations for design purposes).
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate design concepts.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Experience with animation tools or motion graphics for web.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and how they relate to web design.
- Experience working in an agency or on multiple client projects.
- Certification in UI/UX design.
