Are you a highly skilled woodworking professional with a passion for precision, innovative design, and a knack for remote project execution? Medine Ltd is seeking an exceptional Remote Woodworking Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity for an independent and meticulous craftsperson to contribute to various high-profile projects across our diverse portfolio, from bespoke furniture for our luxury resorts to intricate joinery for our property developments, all from the comfort and flexibility of a remote setup.
As a Remote Woodworking Specialist, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the fabrication of high-quality wooden elements. Your role will involve close collaboration with our architectural, interior design, and project management teams virtually. You will translate design concepts into detailed technical drawings, select appropriate materials, advise on construction methods, and ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and finish. This position demands a strong understanding of various woodworking techniques, materials (including sustainable options), and finishes, along with proficiency in CAD software for design and documentation. You will be responsible for managing project timelines, sourcing materials (if required for consultation), and conducting virtual quality checks to ensure all specifications are met. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that all woodworking components align with Medine’s brand standards of quality, aesthetics, and durability. This role requires exceptional communication skills, self-discipline, and the ability to work independently while remaining an integral part of our project teams. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications for woodworking projects using CAD software.
- Collaborate virtually with architects, interior designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and translate design concepts into feasible woodworking solutions.
- Select appropriate wood species, veneers, and other materials, considering durability, aesthetics, sustainability, and budget.
- Advise on joinery techniques, construction methods, and finishing processes to ensure structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.
- Provide expert consultation on custom furniture design, cabinetry, and other wooden installations for various Medine properties.
- Conduct virtual quality control inspections and provide feedback on prototypes and finished products from external workshops or contractors.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new materials, and advanced woodworking technologies.
- Source specialized tools or materials for bespoke projects as required, or advise procurement teams on sourcing.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all designs, material selections, and project progress.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in fine woodworking, joinery, and furniture making.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Fusion 360) for technical drawing and 3D modeling.
- Strong understanding of wood properties, material selection, and finishing techniques.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
