As a Renewable Energy Installation Assistant at Career.zycto, you will play a crucial role in deploying sustainable energy systems across Yellowknife and the Northwest Territories. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead technicians and electricians in the installation of solar PV systems, wind turbines, and energy storage solutions.
- Perform site preparation, including trenching, mounting structure assembly, and equipment staging.
- Handle and transport materials safely to and from installation sites.
- Assist with the wiring, grounding, and connection of electrical components under supervision.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tool management and site cleanup.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and assist with system testing and commissioning.
- Communicate effectively with team members and project leads regarding progress and potential issues.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to renewable energy technologies.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of construction principles and tool usage.
- Ability to work safely at heights and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and practices.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions common in the Northwest Territories.
- Basic problem-solving aptitude.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, electrical trades, or general labour.
- Certification in Fall Protection, First Aid, and/or WHMIS.
- Knowledge of basic electrical theory or renewable energy systems.
- Post-secondary education or trade certification in a related field.
- Experience operating basic power tools and hand tools.
