Job Description

This role calls for a tenacious and insightful Reporter – News & Field to join our dedicated team, based in the vibrant community of Bournville, Birmingham. Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate, gather, and report on local news stories, events, and issues within Bournville, Birmingham, and surrounding areas.
  • Conduct interviews with sources, community leaders, and the public to gather information and perspectives.
  • Write clear, concise, and accurate news reports, features, and online content for various platforms under tight deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within the community.
  • Attend press conferences, council meetings, and other public events as required.
  • Record and edit audio/video footage for broadcast and digital use (if applicable).
  • Contribute to daily news planning and editorial meetings with proactive story ideas.
