Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise care shifts, ensuring smooth daily operations and high standards of care.
- Administer medication in accordance with policies and procedures, maintaining accurate records.
- Provide direct personal care, emotional support, and assistance with daily living activities to residents.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Mentor and support junior care staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
- Facilitate and participate in engaging activities designed to promote residents' physical and mental well-being.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and detailed care records, adhering to data protection guidelines.
Required Skills
- SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is essential; Level 3 or willingness to work towards it is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 12 months experience working in a care setting.
- Demonstrable understanding of person-centred care principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Basic IT proficiency for record-keeping and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Experience in medication administration and recording.
- Previous experience in a senior care assistant or team leader role.
- Knowledge of relevant care standards and regulations (e.g., SSSC codes of practice).
