The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive upkeep of the resort’s expansive grounds, including gardens, lawns, pathways, and common outdoor areas. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, and mulching of all lawns and garden beds.
- Plant, cultivate, prune, and care for flowers, shrubs, trees, and other ornamental plants.
- Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Implement and manage irrigation systems, ensuring proper watering schedules and system functionality.
- Monitor and address pest and disease issues affecting plants and turf, using appropriate and safe treatment methods.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all outdoor areas, including pathways, patios, and outdoor furniture.
- Assist with seasonal decorations and special event setup requiring groundskeeping support.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or significant grounds issues to management promptly.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations related to groundskeeping.
- Collaborate with other resort staff to ensure a cohesive and high-quality guest experience.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a groundskeeper or landscaper, preferably within a hospitality or resort setting.
- Solid knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and common landscaping practices.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining landscaping equipment and tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high aesthetic standards.
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and pest control methods.
