Pemba Paradise Resort is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Kids Club Assistant to join our vibrant team and help create magical, unforgettable experiences for our youngest guests. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading a diverse range of engaging activities for children of various age groups, ensuring their safety, enjoyment, and personal growth within our Kids Club environment. Your days will be filled with fun, imagination, and the joy of helping children discover new interests, make new friends, and create cherished holiday memories. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead a variety of age-appropriate, engaging, and educational activities for children (ages 4-12) within the Kids Club.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and supervision of all children participating in Kids Club activities at all times.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and fun atmosphere where children feel comfortable and excited to participate.
- Interact positively with children, encouraging participation, fostering creativity, and addressing individual needs.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians, providing updates on their children's activities and experiences.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Kids Club facility, ensuring all equipment and materials are in good condition.
- Assist with the registration and check-out process for children entering and leaving the Kids Club.
- Handle minor first aid incidents, following established resort protocols and reporting procedures.
- Collaborate with other resort departments to coordinate activities and ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Develop and implement creative themes, games, crafts, and educational programs.
- Adhere to all resort policies and procedures, especially those related to child safety and guest service.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience working with children in a structured environment (e.g., daycare, school, youth camp, recreation programs).
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and adults.
- High level of energy, enthusiasm, patience, and creativity.
- Ability to plan, organize, and lead a variety of activities for different age groups.
- Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate play.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Fluency in English (verbal and written); proficiency in Swahili is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays, as per resort needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a kids club or family entertainment role within a resort or hotel setting.
- Multilingual abilities (e.g., German, French, Italian) to cater to our diverse international guests.
- Experience in art & crafts, storytelling, sports, or other specialized children's activities.
- Water safety training or lifeguard certification.
