Nando’s Maseru, located in the bustling Ha Mabote area, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Restaurant Cashier to join our dynamic team. As a Restaurant Cashier, you will be the face of Nando’s, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient experience for our valued customers. Your primary responsibilities will include accurately processing transactions, managing cash and card payments, and ensuring a smooth flow at the till point. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process all cash, credit, and debit card transactions using the POS system.
- Greet customers warmly, provide menu information, and assist with order placement.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station, ensuring all supplies are stocked.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Assist with packaging orders for dine-in and takeout, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
- Adhere to all Nando's cash handling policies and procedures and company standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Promote special offers, loyalty programs, and seasonal promotions to customers.
- Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and comply with all food safety regulations at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a cashier or in a customer service role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in operating Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and handling various payment methods.
- Excellent numerical and accurate cash handling skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks, especially financial transactions.
- Friendly, outgoing, and genuinely customer-focused personality with a service-first attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 10 kg when necessary.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience specifically in a restaurant or food service environment.
- Knowledge of Nando's menu and products, including dietary information.
- Ability to speak Sesotho is considered a strong advantage for local customer interaction.
- Basic computer literacy.
