Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Restaurant Cashier to join a bustling team in Ketu, Lagos. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and manage the front desk operations efficiently.
- Process all cash, credit, and debit card transactions accurately and swiftly.
- Issue receipts, refunds, change, or tickets as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier station and front-of-house area.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor complaints or escalate issues to management.
- Provide information about menu items, promotions, and restaurant services.
- Assist with taking orders and packaging takeout orders during peak hours.
- Reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy.
- Collaborate with waitstaff and kitchen team to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Adhere to all restaurant policies and safety regulations.
- Contribute to a positive team environment through helpfulness and good communication.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a cashier or in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or retail setting.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate POS (Point of Sale) systems and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Customer-centric approach with a positive and professional attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/BSc in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with various restaurant management software.
- Experience in upselling or cross-selling menu items.
- Fluency in local Nigerian languages in addition to English.
