As a Restaurant Cashier, you will play a crucial role in maintaining smooth operations at the front of the house, handling transactions with accuracy and efficiency, and assisting guests with inquiries.
Your day will involve welcoming guests with a warm smile, accurately processing payments using our point-of-sale (POS) system, and managing cash and credit card transactions. You’ll be responsible for balancing your till at the end of each shift, ensuring all figures reconcile perfectly. Beyond transactions, this role is about creating a pleasant atmosphere. You will answer phone calls, assist with reservations, and provide information about menu items and daily specials. Keeping the front counter area clean and organized, stocking supplies, and assisting with light administrative tasks will also be part of your routine. You will work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless communication and guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their visit.
- Accurately process all cash, credit, and gift card transactions using the POS system.
- Handle cash responsibly, make change, and reconcile the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.
- Answer incoming phone calls, take reservations, and provide information about the restaurant, menu, and specials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked front counter and reception area.
- Assist guests with inquiries, provide directions, and resolve minor issues professionally.
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Support management with administrative tasks as needed, such as preparing reports or managing supplies.
- Adhere to all cash handling policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Uphold the restaurant's standards for cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
