Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Full-Time Restaurant Grill Cook to join our esteemed culinary team at Neptune Pwani Beach Resort & Spa. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated chef to showcase their grilling expertise in a dynamic, high-volume resort setting. As a Grill Cook, you will be instrumental in preparing a diverse range of grilled specialties, from fresh local seafood and succulent meats to vibrant vegetarian options, all to the highest standards of taste and presentation. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled items, including meats, seafood, and vegetables, following established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain all grilling equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring all dishes meet the resort's high standards before being served.
- Manage inventory for your station, including ordering and proper storage of ingredients.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines (HACCP) to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and commis, to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times, including during and after service.
- Adapt to changing menu requirements and guest requests, demonstrating flexibility and creativity.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment within the kitchen team.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Grill Cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel.
- In-depth knowledge of grilling techniques, temperatures, and food safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and general kitchen hygiene practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized institution.
- Experience working in a 4-star or 5-star resort or hotel setting.
