Career.zycto is seeking an exceptional and enthusiastic Restaurant Host to join the team at one of our prestigious dining establishments in Ketu, Lagos. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, manage their expectations, and provide accurate wait times.
- Efficiently manage the reservation system, seating charts, and walk-in guest flow to optimize dining room capacity.
- Escort guests to their tables, ensuring the table is clean, properly set, and comfortable.
- Present menus, inform guests of daily specials, and offer initial beverage suggestions.
- Assist guests with coat check or special requests, demonstrating attentiveness and proactive service.
- Maintain a tidy and organized reception area, ensuring all necessary materials (menus, pens, etc.) are readily available.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism, escalating when necessary.
- Collaborate seamlessly with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations.
- Assist with light cleaning duties in the dining area as needed to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Adhere to all restaurant policies, health, and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within hospitality.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and non-verbal).
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Proficiency in using reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) or willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light items.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of additional local languages is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree or certificate in hospitality management is a plus.
- Previous experience as a restaurant host or front desk receptionist in a fine dining establishment.
